Vrinda submitted a leave letter at her school, which was accepted by her class teacher.
“Vrinda, sab packing ho gayi kya?” Sharvari asked her daughter.
“Haa mummy, bas ho gayi hai,” Vrinda replied, packing her bag.
“Thik hai, jaldi karo,” Sharvari urged.
“Jii mummy,” Vrinda answered.
“Aur hone ke baad jaldi khana khaa ke so jana. Kal subah jaldi nikalna hai,” Sharvari reminded her.
“Haa mummy, bahot majaa aayega na didi ke shaadi mei,” Vrinda said excitedly.
“Voh toh hai, aur sab kitne din ke baad milenge,” Sharvari agreed.
“Mummy, hum sab cousins milke bahot masti karenge,” Vrinda said with a big smile.
“Par agar koi kaam hai toh who bhi karna. Sirf masti karne nahi jaa rahe hai hum,” Sharvari reminded her.
“Haa mummy, kar lungi,” Vrinda reassured her.
“Thik hai, chalo abhi sone jao,” Sharvari instructed.
Vrinda entered her room and prayed to the idol of RadhaKrishna before sleeping. “Kanha ji, kal ka din bahot important hai. Sambhal lena, koi gadbad na ho jaye,” she murmured.
The next morning, the streets were bustling. Vrinda woke up filled with excitement for her cousin’s wedding. She prayed to RadhaKrishna and got up from her bed.
“Vrinda, uth bhi jaa...” Sharvari called out.
“Uth gayi hoon, mummy,” Vrinda answered.
She got freshened up and was waiting in the corridors of her house for her parents. Her father arrived and asked, “Tum tayaar ho gayi?”
“Jii papa,” Vrinda replied.
“Chalo, chalte hai,” Sharad said, calling Sharvari, who was busy checking if she had taken everything properly, including the gifts for the bride and groom. After ensuring the door was locked properly, they all sat in the car.
Upon reaching Jaipur, everyone welcomed Vrinda’s family warmly. Vrinda met all her cousins, which made her very happy. They sat talking while Sharvari, along with Sharad, met the bride, groom, and other family members, checking if there were any arrangements she had to look into.
“Nahi, kuch nahi karna aapko,” the bride’s mother said.
“Aao, tumhe dulhe ki family se milvati hoon,” she added.
“Haa, chalo,” Sharvari said, looking at Sharad.
They both went to meet the groom and his family, greeted them, and started talking.
On the other side, Vrinda was enjoying herself with her cousins.
“Mujhe bhi aisi dress chahiye thi lekin mili hi nahi,” Vrinda said, looking at her sister Shambhavi.
“Are, koi nahi, mai tumhare liye aise dress laungi,” Shambhavi promised.
“Are yaar, tum dono yeh dress ki kya baate kar rahi ho? Chalo na, kuch khelte hai,” their younger brother Priyansh suggested.
“Haa, chalo,” they all agreed.
“Par kya?” Vrinda added.
“Luka chuppi khelte hai, chalo,” Priyansh suggested.
“Nahi yaar, chalo na, kuch aur khelte hai,” Shambhavi said.
“Haa, voh wala game khelte hai jisme hum apne eyes blindfold karte hai aur jise blindfold kiya hai voh baki bache hue logo ko pakdega. Yaha jyada space hai toh khelne bhi aayega,” Shambhavi added.
“Haa,” they all agreed.
“Toh Shambhavi didi pehli blindfolded hogi,” Priya, their cousin, said.
“Haa, chalega,” Vrinda added.
“Thik hai, toh main hi pehla bakra hoon,” Shambhavi said with a mischievous smile.
They all started laughing as Shambhavi was ready to be blindfolded. As she was blindfolded, everyone started running in the opposite direction. Shambhavi, blindfolded, was chasing them. She felt someone behind her, turned back, and caught Vrinda, who was trying to escape but got caught.
“Ab hum blindfold honge,” Vrinda said with a little disappointment.
Shambhavi began to blindfold Vrinda. Meanwhile, Sharvari greeted the arriving guests, including her best friend Meghana and her family. Sharvari told Meghana’s son to join Vrinda and her cousins as they were playing and were of the same age.
Vrinda, now blindfolded, mistakenly caught the new boy and started removing the handkerchief from her eyes. As her vision cleared, she was shocked to see Anish, whom she was holding by the collar, thinking it was her brother.
“Hey Kanha, yeh humne kya kar diya,” she murmured to herself.
Her cousins were surprised to see Anish, as they didn’t know him.
“Aap yaha kya kar rahe hai?” Vrinda asked, still surprised and a little embarrassed.
“Woh mai...” Anish was about to speak when Sharvari introduced him.
“Yeh Anish hai, mere best friend ka beta. Ise bhi tumhare group mai involve karo,” Sharvari said, introducing Anish to Vrinda and her cousins.
“Jii masi,” Shambhavi said, being the oldest in their group, while Vrinda watched Anish with wide eyes, and he sheepishly smiled at her.
“Jii mummy,” Vrinda said, bringing herself back to reality.
Sharvari left, and each of Vrinda’s cousins introduced themselves to Anish while Vrinda remained lost in her thoughts.
“Tum bhi apna introduction do,” Shambhavi said to Vrinda, catching her attention.
“Hum...matlab...woh,” Vrinda stammered, looking at Anish, who was quietly waiting to listen.
“Kya hua tumhe?” Shambhavi inquired.
“Kuch nahi,” Vrinda said and introduced herself to Anish, making eye contact in which they both got lost for a few minutes.
“Chalo khelte hai,” Priyansh said, breaking their eye contact.
“Haa,” Shambhavi agreed.
“Hum paani pi ke aate hai,” Vrinda said.
Shambhavi nodded, and Vrinda left as quickly as possible.
“Vaise itne coincidence hamare saath hi kyu ho rahe hai? Sach mai aisa lag raha hai jaise hum koi Bollywood film mai hai,” Vrinda murmured to herself, only to find Anish beside her.
“Yeh kaisa coincidence hai na?” Anish asked, making Vrinda a little scared as she was lost in her thoughts.
“Aap...aaapne kuch suna?” Vrinda inquired.
“Nahi, par kuch sunna tha kya?” Anish said mischievously.
“Nahi, humne toh aise hi bol diya,” Vrinda said, forcing a smile.
“Vaise aap yaha kya kar rahe hai?” Vrinda asked after a brief pause.
“Mai yaha shaadi attend karne aaya hoon. Aapki mummy ne hi invitation diya tha,” Anish said, looking at her.
“Woh...mujhe aap se baat karni thi,” Anish said to Vrinda, who was drinking water.
“Haa, boliye na,” Vrinda said softly.
“Agar mai kahun aap mujhse milne ke liye us RadhaKrishna ke mandir me aayengi toh... Woh mujhe aapse kuch baat karni thi... Aaj raat aa jana... Please,” Anish said, pointing towards the temple of RadhaKrishna with a light smile.
Vrinda was shocked and stunned hearing Anish’s words.
“Kyaa...” she said in surprise, choking on the water.
“Wahi joh aapne suna,” Anish said with a smile and left, leaving Vrinda surprised.
Vrinda didn’t notice Shambhavi approaching her. As she turned, she saw Shambhavi and called her.
“Mujhe tumse kuch baat karni hai,” Vrinda said.
“Haa, bolo na,” Shambhavi replied, seeing Vrinda a little tense.
Vrinda told Shambhavi everything from the start, and Shambhavi listened carefully.
“Yeh sab hua aur tu mujhe abhi bata rahi hai?” Shambhavi said.
“Aisa nahi hai, hum milne hi wale the toh socha ki milke batate hai,” Vrinda answered.
“Accha, thik hai,” Shambhavi said.
“Mai kya karu? Woh mujhe milne ke liye bula rahe hai aaj raat ko... who bhi RadhaKrishna ke mandir me,” Vrinda said.
“Dekh, tujhe woh pasand hai toh ek baar dekh toh kya kehna chata hai woh,” Shambhavi advised.
“Nahii, mai aise kaise jaa sakti hoon. Yeh sahi nahi hai,” Vrinda said.
“Are, mai hu na. Mai sab sambhal lungi. Tu jaa aaj raat ko. Dekh toh use kya kehna hai. Agar kuch important hua toh kya karegi,” Shambhavi insisted.
Vrinda agreed after listening to Shambhavi, as she was the eldest and had a point
“Haa, tum sahi ho... Agar kuch important hua toh?... Par tum sach mai sambhal logi?” Vrinda asked.
“Haa, mai sambhal lungi,” Shambhavi reassured.
“Shambhavi di... Vrinda di,” Priyansh started calling them.
“Chalo, game continue karte hai,” Shambhavi said.
“Haa, chalo,” Vrinda agreed.
They both left from there.
As it was night, all the guests were in their rooms. Vrinda and her cousins were in one room due to the lack of space. Everyone was asleep except Vrinda and Shambhavi. Vrinda saw Anish going to the temple and told Shambhavi.
“Tum bhi jao abhi,” Shambhavi whispered.
“Haa,” Vrinda said.
As she was about to leave, Priyansh woke up and saw Vrinda.
“Kya hua di? Aap kaha jaa rahe ho?” Priyansh asked, making Vrinda scared to death. Her heartbeat fastened as if her heart was going to come out.
“Tumhe kya karna hai? Tum so jao,” Shambhavi answered.
“Mai...woh...bas paani peene ke liye jaa rahi thi,” Vrinda said to Priyansh.
Vrinda drank water, came back to her place, and pretended to be asleep until Priyansh was asleep again.
“Abb jao, sab so gaye hai,” Shambhavi whispered as everyone was asleep.
Vrinda nodded in response. Making her way to the temple, she saw the shadow of Anish waiting eagerly for her. She smiled a little and made her way to the temple.
As she reached the temple, Anish was facing the idol of RadhaKrishna. Hearing Vrinda's footsteps, he turned and faced her with a bright smile.
“Thank you so much, aap aa gaye... Mujhe vishwas tha aap jaroor aayengi,” he said, walking towards Vrinda, who was standing outside the temple.
As he reached her, he stood on the stairs of the temple and extended his hand towards Vrinda, making her blush. She looked down, delaying to take his hand. As Anish started to withdraw his hand, Vrinda immediately grabbed it, making both of them blush.
Anish took Vrinda's hand, and they made their way toward the idol of RadhaKrishna, facing each other with the idol to their right.
